EDGE Certified Foundation

EDGE Certified Foundation is the guardian of the EDGE Certification Global Standards and assessment methodology, and oversees the EDGE Certification process. EDGE Certification is an independent third-party verification that gives organizations a universally recognized symbol of their commitment to DE&I.

There are three levels of EDGE Certification to recognize the organization’s DE&I maturity and their commitment, progress and success. EDGEplus Certification can be added at any level to show the organizations pledge to address intersectional equity as well as gender equality.

Pay equity is one of the four pillars that define success in gender and intersectional equity, as outlined by the EDGE and EDGEplus Global Standards. Organizations preparing to become EDGE Certified will undertake a regression analysis of salary and pay to assess unexplained gender pay gaps. This is conducted using standard variables with the option of adding variables specific to the organization.

EDGE Certification can benefit organizations wishing to proactively manage pay equity in their organizations. In the absence of national guidelines, the robustness of the EDGE Certification system guides employers regarding the best practices in pay gap analysis and aids them in creating ambitious action plans that foster accountability and drive progress. In jurisdictions already mandating pay gap reporting, EDGE Certification can be a helpful tool to ensure that employers comply with their national requirements, while ensuring that pay gap reporting goes beyond a mere compliance exercise. This is achieved through placing it within a holistic framework of measuring workplace gender and intersectional equity, both quantitively and qualitatively, and setting clear and tailored goals for advancement.

The EDGE pay equity methodology is also notably compliant with the recently agreed EU Directives related pay transparency and corporate sustainability reporting.

EDGE Certified Foundation partners with many organizations that offer pay equity solutions to ensure that the use of different pay equity models can be compliant with the EDGE Certification requirements. We notably partner with PayAnalytics, Syndio, and Trusaic.
